For those members who were unable to attend last weekend's AGM, you'll have missed the Commodore's address, in which Martin reflected on the 2026 sailing season — his first as Commodore of Coniston Sailing Club — and, importantly, looked ahead to 2027, our 60th anniversary year.

Your Management Committee has a clear ambition: to put sailing firmly back at the heart of Coniston Sailing Club. In his address, Martin outlined some of the changes and initiatives planned for 2027 to help us achieve that ambition and make the most of this important milestone in the club's history.

It's an ambition that takes us right back to the club's beginnings in 1967 and the founding objective agreed by the original Management Committee:

"To encourage the sport and enjoyment of sailing on Coniston Water."

Sixty years on, that simple statement remains just as relevant today and provides a fitting focus for the year ahead.

We'd really welcome your thoughts, feedback, and ideas. Whether it's something you'd like to see introduced, improved, or simply done differently, please do share your suggestions with Martin at commodore@conistonsailingclub.co.uk.

After all, it's your club, and we want 2027 to be a season that everyone can enjoy and be part of.

For those interested in reading the full address, we've included a copy below.
