It is unfortunately approaching that time of year where many of us will be starting to think about packing our cruisers up for the winter. As has been the case historically we have organised a tractor to help with retrieving cruisers form the lake and have 2 dates scheduled for Saturday 2nd October and Sunday 31st October.
If you are looking to take your cruiser off the lake and move to the car park for the winter with the help of the tractor, please see our "Book Online" tab on the club website to book a retrieval slot: https://www.conistonsailingclub.co.uk/booking/type/cruiser-launchretrieval-1
We have organised 20 minute slots from 10 am to 3pm for both Saturday 2nd and Sunday 31st October to retrieve your cruiser, at a cost of £25 per boat. If you are booking a slot, please ensure both your trailer and cruiser are ready to be retrieved on your chosen day. Winter cruiser storage fees for the carpark are also applicable and should be be booked if not already organised.
Car park and storage reminders:
Please be considerate of of where you store your cruiser and/or dinghies in the car park. You must ensure other members trailers are accessible and that you are considerate of space, especially as we likely have a number of new boats requiring storage this year. Likewise on the retrieval weekends do note you may be asked to move your car to accommodate cruiser traffic in the car park. Managing this can be a thankless task so please do your bit to make it as easy as possible and be accepting of any asks form those running the retrievals.
Every member is responsible for ensuring that anything, (boat, trailer, tender etc.) they store in the car park for winter must be marked clearly with their member number. Judy will make identification discs for you, but it is your responsibility to ensure they are attached and clearly displayed on your property. Failure to do so may result in your property being dealt with under the abandoned property process.
Please remember all craft should be removed from the foreshore and dinghy park by 1st December and, if stored in the car park, removed by Good Friday.
