CSC & Covid-19 update 6 - email sent to members 8th April 2020
Published 16:03 on 8 Apr 2020
Thank you to everybody for responding quickly regarding the refund of membership fees - all these have been actioned as per instructions received.
I am sure nobody needs any reminding that the current lockdown restrictions remain in force across the Country and police are reinforcing this message, especially in beautiful holiday locations such as Coniston. Some of you may have seen the flashing sign on the A591 advising that 'LAKES IS SHUT' but even so, some people still manage to ignore the instruction! Obviously, in line with all direction, there is no change to our position and the Sailing Club remains shut.
Some of you may have seen on the webcam that we do have a boat tied to our jetty - we are aware of this and action has been taken to have it removed to a mooring as soon as possible - hopefully today.
A couple of our local members are able to walk around the club, the dinghy park and the car park as part of their daily exercise walk and have confirmed that all boats and the clubhouse are completely safe and coming to no harm where they are.
This isn't going to be the Easter we looked forward to during the winter - perhaps we should all raise a glass on Sunday evening to Coniston Sailing Club and look forward to Easter 2021 when we can celebrate the start of the season in our traditional way.
My sincere hopes that you are all keeping well, a massive thanks to those of you that are still working, many of you on the 'front line'.
Keep following the guidelines, stay home, keep safe and save lives.
