CSC & Covid-19 Update2 - 20th March 2020 - email sent to all members..
Published 18:28 on 20 Mar 2020
Thank you to everybody for the positive and encouraging responses received since our first communication.
On Wednesday, as Maria worked through the calendar cancelling all the events up to the end of May, many of you will have received Sailing Club Manager notifications that your duty had been cancelled. We appreciate these e-mails are a bit brusque and just wanted to say a massive thank you to all those of you who have volunteered to help on our full and varied sailing and social calendar which has now been cancelled or postponed.
Launch Days & Boats in the Car Park
At this moment in time both launch days are taking place. We have received confirmation from a couple of members that they won't be attending the Club to launch as they are following Government guidelines and self isolating.
If you are booked to launch and are not going to come, then please let us know.
Similarly, if you haven't booked on but now wish to launch, then again, please let us know. Currently, we only have 1 definite and 1 possible boat for Saturday 28th March so we really do need to know if anybody is coming or we risk volunteers turning up unnecessarily.
If your boat is in the car park (dinghy or cruiser) and you do not wish to come to the Club (regardless of age etc) then you may leave your boat in the car park and no additional charges will be made. If and when the situation changes and restrictions are lifted we will organise an additional launch day to clear the car park and get people sailing!
Alternatively, and I know some of you have started to do this, you can move your dinghies, kayaks, tenders, toppers and teras onto the dinghy park, beach and racks now and, providing you follow government guidelines, use your boat.
We have decided that, whilst we are in the current position, we will not accept temporary members to the Club unless it is friends and family visiting with members. The sign on the gate will be amended to reflect this.
As we don't wish anybody to feel obliged to attend the Club, there will not be an allocated weekend Duty Officer until further notice (currently end of May). If anybody does need any assistance or to speak to a member of the Committee then please do not hesitate to contact me on the number below or at email@example.com or Mike at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Similarly, if you think we are missing any actions or have any suggestions to make then please let us know. The CV action group will continue to 'meet' every Monday and Thursday evening until further notice.
