The sail training is run by a Senior Instructor, Dinghy Instructors, Assistant Dinghy Instructors and experienced volunteers.
Each session starts at 10am and the juniors should be changed and ready to sail at that time. Boats will be rigged and launched as part of the training session.
All juniors should be appropriately dressed and prepared for the weather conditions on the lake.
The cost of the sail training is £75. This is payable by 18th March 2018.
Juniors wishing to do the sail training must register with RYA Principal Valerie Beacock by 18th March 2018.
A completed Child Health Form must be filled in and given to Valerie prior to the first session.
All juniors and parents are requested to view the following documents:
We follow the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme and log books can be purchased from Valerie. These should be brought to each session.
The juniors will be divided into groups according to ability and the training will be delivered accordingly.
CSC club boats will be allocated by the instructors. The club has 1 Feva, 3 Qubas, 1 Tera, 1 GP14.
Juniors may use their own boats once the senior instructor has approved them.
There will be a break for lunch and the sessions usually end between 3.30pm and 4pm. The weather conditions may dictate the timing of the sessions.
The juniors will be expected to help to put the boats away at the end of the training session.
A junior taking part in a Junior Training session must have a responsible adult (18 and over) on Coniston Sailing Club premises for the duration of the training session. If that adult is not the parent/guardian, but a designated person, the details of that person must be given to the organiser on the appropriate form.
