Coniston Sailing Club welcomes members who have an interest in the sport of Sailing. We have a full programme of racing events and social activites. Although we run a comprehensive programme of dinghy and cruiser series and trophy racing, you do not have to compete in racing to become a member. We exist to enjoy the fantastic location of Coniston Water and to enjoy sailing in whatever form you choose, whether it be racing, recreational or spectator. A comfortable bar, shower and kitchen facilities are all available with membership. We are a friendly, informal club and new members need not be afraid to ask for advice or help when needed.

The Membership Secretary will then contact you back in due course.

We are an RYA teaching centre and provide RYA training and qualification for our junior members only.

We offer monthly sail training at a small charge for juniors from the age of 7 upwards with an experienced RYA senior instructor. Novice younger sailors are tutored in the safe environment of Optimist dinghies whilst more experienced juniors with their own dinghies receive further tuition in sailing and racing skills. A recent grant award from Sport England has enabled the club to also purchase four new RS Quba and Feva dinghies to use within the junior training programme and to allow novice sailors, junior and adult, who have never sailed before to 'Have a Go'.

We offer dinghy storage space for the club season on our dinghy park at a charge up until 30th November when all boats must be removed from the club grounds until after 1st March.Storage spaces are limited and are therefore allocated on a first come/first served basis. Winter storage for cruisers and dinghies is available on the club car park at an extra charge.

Cruisers and Moorings

Cruiser owners can only be accepted for membership if they have a mooring on the lake. Coniston Sailing Club do not hold and cannot allocate moorings. Moorings are allocated by the Rawdon-Smith Trust. Applicants wishing to obtain a mooring should contact the Rawden-Smith Trust Lake Warden, Tom Hrynkow, on 07813 671146.
